Aluminum monumental casement windows - Series 3062
GENERAL
Aluminum monumental casement windows as shown in the architectural drawings shall be Series 3062 as manufactured by SOL-A-TROL Aluminum Products, Miami Fla. and shall meet or exceed AAMA specifications for HC-60. Also available in a large missile impact-resistant model, tested in accordance with Miami-Dade county protocol to a design pressure of +80, -80 psf.
MATERIAL
Extruded aluminum 6063-T6 (Alloy and Temper)
FRAMES: The window frame shall have a minimum thickness of 1/8" and a full depth of 2".
SASH: All sash members shall have a minimum thickness of 1/16", of tubular construction, and full depth of 2".
CONSTRUCTION
FRAME: All frame members shall be joined by double mortise, tenon, and riveted construction.
SASH: All vents shall be mitered, reinforced and welded and shall be factory sealed.
HARDWARE
Ventilators shall be equipped with heavy duty 5 knuckle extruded aluminum butt hinges. All locking hardware shall be white bronze with U.S.25-D finish. Options available include heavy duty, non-magnetic stainless steel, 4-bar mechanism, adjustable friction hinges and/or roto operators.
WEATHERSTRIPPING
There shall be a neoprene weatherstripping at every contact point between sash and frame.
FINISHES
Electro-statically applied baked enamel.
Clear Anodized.
Bronze Hardcoat.
Kynar 500
GLAZING
The glass shall be as specified under Glass and Glazing section, and held in place with extruded snap-in type glazing bead. Impact resistant models shall be glazed with 7/16" laminated glass as tested.
SCREENS
Screens shall be aluminum frames with an 18 x 16 mesh charcoal fiberglass screen cloth. Wickets required for non-roto operator equipped units.
